POWER RESTORATION IN CATANDUANES REACHES 94.6%

Catanduanes, Philippines — As of December 9, 2024, 94.6% of barangays in Catanduanes have been re-energized following the devastation brought by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. The First Catanduanes Electric Cooperative, Inc. (FICELCO) reported significant progress in their power restoration efforts, bringing much-needed relief to the residents of the typhoon-hit province.

Barangay Energization Progress:

Bagamanoc: 17/18 barangays restored

• Baras: 29/29 (Fully energized)

• Bato: 27/27 (Fully energized)

• Caramoran: 24/27 barangays restored

• Gigmoto: 9/9 (Fully energized)

• Pandan: 16/26 barangays restored

• Panganiban: 21/23 barangays restored

• San Andres: 38/38 (Fully energized)

• San Miguel: 24/24 (Fully energized)

• Viga: 31/31 (Fully energized)

• Virac: 62/63 barangays restored

Challenges:

While power has been restored in most barangays, some sitios and households are still experiencing interruptions due to localized issues and damaged infrastructure.

Commitment to Completion:

FICELCO, with the support of lineworkers from neighboring provinces and agencies, is pushing to achieve 100% restoration in the coming days. The cooperative reiterates its commitment to bring full power back to the entire province before the Christmas holidays.
