Legazpi City mayoralty candidate Hisham Ismail expressed optimism about the city’s bright future under the leadership of his brother-in-law, Mayor Alfredo Garbin Jr., even with only seven months remaining in his term.

This statement came following the announcement of key collaborative programs for Legazpi City, including a P100 million Department of Health (DOH) fund for the Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients (MAIP) program at the Legazpi City Hospital, a P100 million Department of Tourism allocation for the Bicol Loco to be hosted by the city, and a P20 million Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) allocation for rice subsidies to benefit qualified Legazpiños.

Ismail emphasized that this fresh infusion of funds ensures continued medical services for the next six months, along with rice assistance in the coming days—adding to the ongoing Christmas bonanza already being enjoyed by residents.

He also hinted at more developments to come, should the Legazpiños support “Kuya Pido” (Mayor Garbin) as their Ako Bicol (AKB) congressman, which could bring in much-needed financial support to Legazpi.

Ismail remains confident that, with such backing, Legazpi could achieve greater progress if given the chance to serve as mayor as well.
