In a press briefing held on December 24, 2024, Albay vice-gubernatorial candidate Diday Co pitched her vision of ensuring a seamless flow of programs and services for the province.

A cum laude graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman, with a degree in Tourism, Co also emphasized her commitment to restoring Albay’s former glory as a top tourist destination.

“Albay was once the number one province in terms of tourism in Bicol,” Co remarked. “However, based on recent social media data, we’ve been overtaken by Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte. If given the chance, I will focus on revitalizing our tourism industry to generate revenue and create jobs for Albayanos.”

She highlighted the advantage of having her brother, Congressman Zaldy Co, the chair of the influential Appropriations Committee, as a key ally in securing funds for Albay. She also underscored her partnership with her running mate, Congressman Joey Salceda, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee.

“With Congressman Zaldy Co’s expertise in budget allocation and Congressman Joey Salceda’s leadership in fiscal policy, we are in a prime position to mobilize resources and ensure the smooth implementation of programs and services for Albayanos,” Co stated.

Co’s platform centers on unity, efficient governance, and economic revitalization, with a particular focus on leveraging tourism as a key driver of growth for Albay.
