Residents of Barangay San Jose Pugay, Baao, Camarines Sur, are appealing for urgent government attention to repair a bridge that was severely damaged by Typhoon Kristine. According to local resident Irma Corong Cabaltera, the bridge serves as a vital crossing for four barangays, connecting them to essential services in the town proper.
The damage has left students, senior citizens, and emergency responders struggling to navigate the area, with bamboo structures being used as a makeshift passage for motorbikes. However, this temporary solution poses significant risks, especially during heavy rains when the bridge’s condition worsens.
Cabaltera emphasized the need for immediate action, urging government officials to allocate resources for a permanent solution. The damaged bridge not only disrupts daily life but also endangers the lives of those who rely on it.
The bridge is located at the boundaries of Sta. Teresita, Iriga City, and Barangay San Jose Pugay, Baao, Camarines Sur. Residents are calling on local and national government agencies to prioritize the repair of this critical infrastructure.
