Ligao City, Albay – Ligao Community College (LCC) celebrated its 32nd Founding Anniversary with a significant milestone – the inauguration of its newly constructed P20-million multipurpose gymnasium on February 11, 2025.
The facility, built with a P20-million budget, underscores the efficient use of public funds, costing significantly less than similar projects in other areas while still meeting the needs of the students and faculty. This project was made possible through the General Appropriations Act FY 2024, in collaboration with the City Government of Ligao, under the leadership of Mayor Fernando “Itay Nando†Gonzalez.
Albay 3rd District Representative Fernando Cabredo graced the event, highlighting the importance of the new gymnasium in promoting holistic education and student development.
“This gymnasium is not just a structure—it represents our shared commitment to quality education and the responsible use of government resources. With proper planning and execution, we can provide valuable facilities without unnecessary expenses,†said Cabredo.
Mayor Gonzalez also reaffirmed the city’s dedication to enhancing educational infrastructure and ensuring that Ligao’s youth have access to facilities that will help shape their future.
The celebration was attended by local officials, educators, students, and alumni, all expressing their gratitude for the much-needed addition to LCC’s campus.
