Malinao, Albay – Former Malinao Mayor Leny Ceriola has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the late Albay 1st District Representative Edcel Lagman for securing the funding that led to the construction of the Malinao Municipal Hall during her tenure.
In a social media post, Ceriola highlighted the crucial role of Lagman in allocating ₱77 million from the General Appropriations Act of 2022 to finance the town hall project, which she described as the “newest and best-designed town hall of Albay.”
“Isa sa aking hangarin para sa Malinaonon ay ang mapabuti ang serbisyo at mapaganda ang munisipyo ngani orog na mabisto an satuyang banwaan,” she wrote.
Ceriola emphasized that the completion of the municipal hall was among the many infrastructure projects realized during her administration, marking a significant achievement for the town. She credited Lagman’s support as instrumental in bringing the project to fruition.
“Your efforts in realizing this project during my tenure is a great help that I will never forget and will remain in the hearts of the people of Malinao,” Ceriola added, concluding her message with a touching tribute to the late congressman: “May you rest in peace po.”
Lagman, a veteran lawmaker known for his advocacy in human rights and social development, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of service to Albay and the country.
