Legazpi City—A fire claimed the life of a third-year nursing student and one other individual after breaking out at a residential house in Purok 5, Tanchuling Subdivision, Barangay Rawis, at around 10:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
The female victim, identified by sources as “Princess,” was a 3rd year nursing student at the Divine Word College of Legazpi. The second victim, a male, has yet to be identified.
Deputy City Fire Marshal SFO4 Garry Santander, in an interview with DZGB-AM, stated that the victims were trapped inside the burning house, which was made entirely of light materials.
“Natrap ang mga biktima sa isang residential na bahay kung kaya hindi na ito naisalba,” Santander said.
The fire, which reached the first alarm, was declared out by 11:30 p.m. Investigators are still determining the cause of the blaze.
